EVENT - City and County Update

Nottingham Partners and ProCon Nottinghamshire are delighted to invite you to the annual City and County Update, a key event in our calendar which allows our members to be the first to know about future plans and decisions within the city. The breakfast event will be held on Thursday 8th June at 8:30am. We are excited to announce that it is being hosted and supported by Upstairs at Cleaver & Wake at the Island Quarter.

On the day we will hear from Sajeeda Rose, the Corporate Director for Growth and City Development at Nottingham City Council. Sajeeda will be discussing the current developments within Nottingham, including the transformational Broad Marsh site, plans for the future and how they may benefit the area for generations to come, as well as giving us an update on City Council regeneration activity.

Sajeeda will be joined by Councillor Keith Girling, the Cabinet member for Economic Development and Asset Management at Nottinghamshire County Council. He hopes to provide an insight into some of the major projects he has been closely involved in over the last 18 months, including the successful STEP fusion bid for West Burton, the East Midlands Free Port, and the exciting opportunities these projects are likely to bring to the region in terms of inward investment and economic growth.

The Island Quarter will be giving us an update on their future plans for the 36 acre site. As we’re all aware this landmark development will create hundreds of jobs, strengthen the local economy and help to elevate Nottingham as one of the UK’s key regional cities for investors and employers.

Please note that this event is FREE for ProCon Members, but places are limited and you must book to attend.

EVENT - ProCon Property Question Time

Join us for an event that is a little bit different than our normal seminars. This is our first ProCon Property Question Time with a panel of industry experts who will give their opinions about the current state of play in the property and construction markets and then be open to audience questions and debate.

Post budget and post the inflation rate rises, we are certain that everyone will have an opinion about what is happening in the economy at present and how it is impacting their businesses and indeed their wider life. And we want to hear those opinions! So please do join us and listen to our experts and share your thoughts.

EVENT - Space Park Leicester

Space Park Leicester is the result of a successful collaboration between the City and University of Leicester and many public sector partners before construction; and during design and construction. It builds upon the heritage and space-science excellence of the University of Leicester.

Hear from Steven Pidwill of Shepheard Epstein Hunter and Dan Mason of Pulse Consult who will talk us through this amazing project. Plus we will have the opportunity to tour the facility.

EVENT - Breakfast at 1 The Island Quarter with a Project Update and Tour

Join us for a breakfast event at the brand new 1TIQ, an exciting food, drink and entertainment venue, featuring Binks Yard – a canal-level bar and restaurant – and Cleaver & Wake, a finer dining experience headed by chef patron Laurence Henry.

1TIQ is the first phase of The Island Quarter regeneration site in Nottingham. This 36-acre £1.4 billion development is a ‘city within a city’ and is set to be unique not just for Nottingham, but for the Midlands and the UK. The transformational redevelopment will bring vibrant green spaces, new homes and quality office, leisure and creative spaces to Nottingham, creating a vibrant community as part of the city’s Southside regeneration.

Hear from Richard Watson, who is responsible for the project delivery of The Island Quarter development and also John Whitehead, food, beverage and events project director at 1TIQ.

This will be followed by a tour of Binks Yard and Cleaver & Wake plus an opportunity to network with fellow members.

EVENT - Planning Today, A Non-Technical Discussion

THE DATE FOR THIS EVENT HAS CHANGED TO 20 JULY 2022 (previously 18 May)

Planning is a wide ranging topic but at this event we will be focusing on not only the practical daily concerns of the planning system but also transport sustainability and traffic impact, EA climate change allowances, the issues facing SuDS adoption and Building Regulation changes and Net Zero Targets 2028.

Join us for what will be a useful presentation leading to a wide ranging debate where you are able to ask questions and let us know your thoughts.

An essential hour long, free CPD Webinar, to advise on the updated Building Regulations Parts F, L & O.

Salus are kindly hosting these webinars in conjunction with ProCon.

In a drive to reduce the carbon emissions from buildings the Building Regulations have been amended with new guidance and standards for Part F – Ventilations, Part L Conservation Of Fuel & Power and a New Requirement Part O to control the extent of solar overheating in all residential buildings.

Salus will also be joined by industry leading Sustainability Engineer, Paul Cooper of Ridge who will be able to provide practical advice on the impact the new guidance will have on your projects.

This lunchtime CPD webinar is part of Salus's continued dedication to providing the industry with the correct information to work on their projects throughout the country. Salus will also discuss how they can assist you with your schemes if you wish.
