When the future of the built environment is at stake, construction projects have a lot of aspirations to live up to. Ambitious programmes inevitably fall prey to the risk of unexpected delays and cost increases.
Over the last 130 years, Gleeds has helped businesses and investors not just avoid these problems, but also achieve best value from their assets. As a leading global property and construction consultancy, we've delivered award-winning projects around the world as an independent business since 1885.
Our impartial advice and intelligence are free from conflict of interest and key to helping clients realise their projects on budget, on time and to an exceptional quality.
Gleeds has been based in Nottingham for over 80 years and now has more than 200 committed staff shaping the future of the built environment. Our local network brings technical expertise, value and personality to all stages of the property lifecycle across a wide range of sectors – from quantity surveying, project management and asset management through to facilities management. You can read more about our services here.
Our inspiring leadership has helped build Gleeds’ reputation and longevity in Nottingham. We are proud of our long-lasting relationships and how we make a difference in everything we do:
Gleeds is set to double staff as it targets £400m turnover by 2024. As we look ahead to 2022 and beyond, our vision is to be a business defined by longevity, bravery and excellence, which have always made us stand out from the crowd over the history of Gleeds and will stay with us as we continue on our exciting expansion journey.
In addition to continuing what we are currently doing, our journey focuses on the following key growth sectors, where we can really make a difference:
We’re committed to our clients and our people / Our clients trust us to do a great job. In turn, we’re able to deliver outstanding work because we trust our people. Because everyone thoroughly plays their part, we’re a strong and trusted team.
We’re creative and realistic / Our service combines over 135 years of expertise and experience in new ways that make a genuine difference to projects. Through an entrepreneurial and flexible approach, we’re prepared to look outside of the norm to find the perfect answer.
We combine professionalism with personality / Remembering that we deal with real people helps us tell it straight. Being human also means we recognise that it’s easier to produce our best work if we have the best relationships.
Our purpose is to shape the future of the built environment with an ethical, sustainable and socially conscious mindset.
We recognise we are on a journey and don’t have all the answers now. However, we’re curious and committed to learning more, so our ESG strategy is about progress, not perfection. We are looking for efficiencies, as well as opportunities, to create value for our wider stakeholders.
Working with our stakeholders, ESG Steering Group and Consultation Group, we have undertaken a materiality assessment to determine the global reporting topics where we have a significant impact. These global priority topics are aligned with the People / Project / Planet themes and the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
By adopting the GRI standards and aligning our material topics with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, we aim to share our ESG progress and plans within a transparent framework.

The damage from El Nino storms in 2017 affected 1.1 million people, leaving 178,000 people homeless. In response, the Department for International Trade (DIT) signed a government-to-government agreement with Peru in 2020 to reconstruct schools, hospitals and flood defences. We're proud to not be simply undoing the damage, but building climate resilience for the future. We are helping Autoridad para la Reconstrucción con Cambios deploy nature-based solutions to enhance infrastructure across 9 regions in Peru.
We have also been fortunate enough to premier our story, "Reconstructing hope" at COP26, showing how effective intergovernmental collaboration is helping make this a reality.

We understand the importance of digital and data transformation, with a dedicated team of in-house professionals helping us lead innovation and advancements in the construction industry. We have augmented our processes and procedures to ensure our clients are ready for the future of construction; from research and insight, to artificial intelligence and predictive models, we are here to help you navigate through this ever-developing landscape.
As part of our progressive growth strategy, we are committed to the next generation by recruiting over 50 graduates and 26 apprentices by the end of 2022. With robust academic and management development plans and structured career paths, this creates a base for our people to grow and allows Gleeds to have a strong brand, being an Employer of Choice.
