Completed in June 2026, Waterside Bridge marks an important step in unlocking Nottingham’s 250-acre Waterside Regeneration Zone. Spanning the River Trent, the new bridge provides key infrastructure to help transform former industrial land and support future development.

The new walking and cycling route creates a direct connection between communities on either side of the river, linking Victoria Embankment with Colwick Park and improving safe access to homes, employment and leisure destinations, including Nottingham Forest and Notts County football grounds and Trent Bridge Cricket Ground.

Operating under Perfect Circle and appointed through the SCAPE Consultancy Framework, Pick Everard provided project and cost management services as well as acting as Principal Designer CDM and site supervisor. 

By supporting sustainable and active travel across the city, the bridge also connects the first waterfront neighbourhoods with the south side of the river, helping pave the way for new homes, retail spaces and public realm as the wider regeneration progresses.

Pick Everard has supported the creation of a new £6.8 million planetarium and science discovery centre at Sherwood Observatory in Sutton-in-Ashfield. The project has seen the transformation of a disused Victorian underground reservoir into an immersive and accessible STEM education space, combining historic features with modern learning facilities.

The 59-seat planetarium with a 10-metre dome is fully equipped with immersive projection technology to support school visits, public shows and astronomy talks. The site also now features classrooms, exhibition space, meeting rooms and a new café, all designed to boost engagement with science across Nottinghamshire and beyond.

The project was delivered in collaboration with G F Tomlinson, SCAPE and Otherkind Architects, with Pick Everard providing project and cost management services. The centre is set to attract around 20,000 visitors annually, becoming a key part of the region’s science and education offering.

Nottingham’s Broad Marsh is one of the largest city-centre regeneration opportunities in Europe, transforming a significant area of the city’s public infrastructure and public realm.

Working closely with Nottingham City Council and contractor Willmott Dixon, we have supported the delivery of key elements including the Broad Marsh Bus Station and Car Park, Nottingham Central Library, Green Heart, Collin Street play area and the surrounding public realm works.

The Green Heart is a vibrant new public green space at the heart of Nottingham, bringing nature and biodiversity into the city centre.

The space features 38 trees, including 34 newly planted, alongside colourful planting designed to create habitats and support local wildlife. A dedicated ‘superbloom’ provides a rich source of nectar throughout the year, while a new marsh pond and rain gardens help manage surface water naturally and create further opportunities for biodiversity.
