Associate Director Appointment at Built Environment Consulting

Leading East Midlands mechanical and electrical engineering firm Built Environment Consulting (BEC) has expanded its team with the appointment of Nicholas Fox as an Associate Director.

Nicholas will be based at BEC’s new Nottingham office.

BEC delivers projects across a range of sectors including sport and leisure, hotel and education, and provides leading sustainable solutions for the built environment.

Nicholas, who joins the team from Pick Everald where he worked as an Associate in Nottingham and Derby, will take a lead role in running projects for BEC’s Nottingham office and assisting with marketing and business development.

He said: “It’s an exciting time for BEC as they continue to develop and grow offering high technical expertise as a forward looking and dynamic consultancy practice and I am delighted to join BEC on their journey.”

Starting his career at a specialist consultancy practice in the food and drinks sector, followed by a large multi-disciplinary construction practice, Nicholas has been the lead design engineer in heating, ventilation, air conditioning and public health engineering projects. Working with the emphasis on low energy sustainable design, building integrated renewable energy technologies and building environmental control systems.

He is experienced in commercial, retail, education and healthcare sectors, as well as delivering projects which require BREEAM assessment. Nicholas has worked in controlled environments within historic and heritage buildings successfully coordinating work for the National Trust, The Crown Estate and Her Majesty the Queen and museums.

Matthew Faulkner, director at BEC and lead of the Nottingham office, said: “Our Nottingham office has experienced significant growth and Nick is an important part of our growth strategy. With Nick’s high experience in a variety of fields we are set to work on several big projects in the forthcoming months.”
