Built environment PR and marketing specialists Cartwright Communications and RizkMcCay have been appointed by Conygar Investment Company plc which is set to develop the 40-acre former Boots Island site.
Cartwright and RizkMcCay were appointed due to their outstanding development, property and construction knowledge – as well as their expertise specifically in urban regeneration, said Christopher Ware of Conygar.
Christopher said: “We were keen to use Nottingham companies to help us create PR, branding and marketing for this significant site which is to see a major development to include grade A office space, student accommodation, much-needed residential units, creative spaces and a linear park.
“This is a longstanding scheme – it could take up to ten years to complete this large and important site – and it was vital we had city partners like Cartwright and RizkMcCay to help us on this significant journey.
“Nottingham is brimming with creative talent, and we were keen to use businesses within Nottingham which had a knowledge of the site, and the city and also understood the site’s economic importance to city growth.”
Conygar Investment Company plc purchased the Nottingham site for £13.5 million in 2016. The wasteland site has seen a number of on-off plans for redevelopment over two decades. will be named and branded to reflect the future vision of the aspirations of the city and the truly mixed-use masterplan of the whole district.
Cartwright and RizkMcCay already work closely with the city, its inward investment team and place marketing company to capitalise on the ambitious regeneration projects coming forward in Nottingham.
RizkMcCay will be delivering strategic marketing for the site, including branding and marketing material to attract occupiers and create a sense of vibrant placemaking that is unique to Nottingham.
Helen Andrews, account director at RizkMcCay, said: “We are delighted to be working with Conygar on this scheme. We have seen this site struggle over the years, with previous owners unable to deliver their plans. We are impressed with Conygar’s proven track record of delivering major schemes on this scale – I am convinced Nottingham will now see a transformation on this too-long derelict site.
Liz Cartwright, MD of Cartwright Communications, said: “Cartwright is a company which has vast knowledge in this area and we are looking forward to working closely with the team to support their activity and drive forward great communications to highlight the real potential of this site.”
The large-scale scheme is exciting and unique for Nottingham, the Midlands and the UK. The 40-acre site will be totally transformed to bring new homes, grade A office space, creative incubator space, a high end hotel, retail units, a ‘linear’ park and community space as well as student accommodation to the city.
Conygar is working with regeneration specialist Lavignac Securities to deliver the site, which lies between Manvers Street at the bottom of Sneinton and London Road.
