Celebrating Excellence and Growth at STAT Planning

Published 17th September 2025 by STAT Planning Ltd

It's a time of celebration at STAT Planning as we welcome new team members Sarah Clark and Poppy Hilton, applaud Jessica Hird for winning the prestigious Young Planner of the Year at the East Midlands RTPI Awards for Excellence 2025 and congratulate Sophie Kane on successfully passing her APC.

These milestones not only highlight the talent and dedication within our growing team but also reflect our ongoing commitment to excellence and professional development across the board.

Sarah is a Chartered Town Planner with over 10 years of experience in the private sector, and has worked on a wide range of projects from urban extensions to bespoke infill schemes.

Residential and public sector development are her speciality, and Sarah has delivered sites for landowners, housebuilders and developers through site promotion, outline application and detailed reserved matters stages. Working with the NHS and school academies Sarah has gained consent for essential community projects optimising land use and site value for the public benefit.

Poppy recently graduated from Northumbria University with a BA in Geography and is now continuing her academic journey with a Master’s degree in Urban Planning at Sheffield Hallam University, whilst also gaining hands-on experience as a Graduate Planner. Poppy is enthusiastic about expanding her knowledge across all sectors and contributing meaningfully to the planning profession.

Jessica has been awarded Young Planner of the Year at the prestigious East Midlands RTPI (Royal Town Planning Institute) Awards for Planning Excellence 2025. This accolade recognises exceptional talent and dedication among early-career professionals making a significant impact in the field of town planning.

The award celebrates Jessica’s outstanding contribution to the planning profession, including a passion for collaboration, a commitment to innovation, and strong advocacy for future generations of planners.

At STAT Planning, Jess plays a central role in delivering high-quality planning solutions that reflect both local needs and long-term sustainability. Jess’ ability to navigate complex planning processes, engage constructively with stakeholders, and deliver positive outcomes has earned praise from clients, colleagues, and the wider planning community.

Sophie has passed her Assessment of Professional Competence (APC) and is now a Chartered Member of the Royal Town Planning Institute (MRTPI)!

This major career milestone marks the successful completion of Sophie’s Town Planning Apprenticeship, and is a testament to her hard work, determination, and outstanding professional growth throughout her journey.

These achievements mark an exciting chapter in our journey, and we couldn’t be prouder of the passion, talent, and drive our team continues to demonstrate. As we look to the future, we remain committed to supporting our team, and celebrating their successes—both big and small—as they help shape the future of planning and development.
