Galliford Try’s Building East Midlands business teamed up with client ESPO to volunteer at Willow Bank School in Leicester to renovate the school’s existing fence.

Members of the Galliford Try team working on a new £5m warehouse and headquarters expansion for ESPO, volunteered to replace the existing bamboo fencing around the communal garden of Willow Bank School enhancing the children's privacy from the adjacent car park.

Willow Bank School is part of the Leicester Children’s Hospital Schools, an Ofsted rated outstanding alternative provision that educates students who are not able to attend their usual school through ill health and supports them through their GCSEs.

The team, which included ESPO employees, also engaged in additional tasks, including clearing garden waste, tidying the paved area at the school’s entrance, removing weeds, mowing the lawn, and cutting back dead grass to improve the overall appearance of the area. In total, the group contributed 17.5 hours of volunteering.

Jon Marston, Managing Director for Galliford Try Building East Midlands, commented: “Volunteering is an important part of the workplace culture at Galliford Try and our team were delighted to help out and enhance the communal garden at Willow Bank School to create a more welcoming and private environment for the children."
