LEADING multi-disciplinary property consultancy firm Pulse Consult has been appointed to the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) framework and is the only company to secure two disciplines: project manager and quantity surveyor.

LSHTM is a world-leading centre for research and postgraduate education that specialises in public health and tropical medicine. The seven-year contract will see the team assist with new builds, internal fit outs, refurbishments, and infrastructure replacement on the heritage protected Keppel Street site in Bloomsbury, London.

The framework also extends to the LSHTM wider estate, which includes the university’s campuses in Africa and Europe.

Pulse was selected onto the framework following a rigorous tender process, which included demonstrating a good standard of technical and professional ability, value for money, and solid experience of collaborative working.

Ian Carey, director at Pulse, said: “We are delighted to have been appointed by the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine and to play our part in the delivery of improved higher education services.

“We’ve built a reputation for delivering high quality projects in the education sector using our collaborative approach. This is something we’re very keen to bring to all LSHTM projects by working closely with their team as well as with the other delivery partners.

“The fact that we are the only firm to be selected for both the PM and QS lots is something we’re really proud of. It also highlights our expertise and solutions-driven focus within the higher education sector.”

Established in 2009, Pulse Consult is a multi-disciplinary construction and property consultancy with offices in Nottingham, Leicester, Birmingham and London. The firm also recently relocated its London office and is now based in The Building Society, Fitzrovia.

Heading up the London office, alongside Ian, is Paul Adams who joined the firm in September. He added: “Our appointment onto the LSHTM framework is fantastic news and a credit to the hard work of the team.

“We’re really looking to expand our London base and recruit some top talent in order to help meet the growing demand. This framework will therefore boost those ambitions and further cement our expertise and experience within the higher education sector.”
