Senior Mechanical Engineer Joins Built Environment Consulting

Leading East Midlands mechanical and electrical engineering consultancy Built Environment Consulting (BEC) has expanded its team with the appointment of Matthew Abbott as a senior mechanical design consultant.

BEC, whose head office is in Nottingham, delivers projects across a wide range of sectors including sport and leisure, hotel, industrial and education, and provides leading sustainable solutions for the built environment.

Matthew, who joins the team from WM Building Services (Leicester) Limited where he worked as a mechanical design manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of mechanical design on a project, from inception to construction and completion.

He said: “I’ve formally employed BEC to work for me while I was at WM Building Services and I really enjoyed working with their engineers. BEC always came across as a professional, modern and progressive company, so when I was looking for a new role to enable me to develop my career and live a healthier lifestyle, BEC were the right fit.”

Matthew, who lives in Leicester, has 15 years’ experience within the building services industry and has developed his career from project engineer to project manager, estimator and finally mechanical design engineer.
