COST OF LIVING BOOST AS PR FIRM GIVES STAFF £1K PAY RISE

Published 12th May 2022 by ProCon Nottinghamshire

BOSSES at marketing, PR and digital agency Cartwright Communications have given every member of staff a £1,000 pay rise to help with the cost of living crisis.

The move is part of a raft of measures recently introduced by the company to support and reward its team, which has seen it receive a Great Places to Work accreditation, as well as being named as a finalist for the Inspiring Workplaces EMEA awards alongside the BBC, Bupa and Places for People.

In addition to the pay rise for its 30-plus staff, the agency – which has offices in Nottingham and Birmingham – offers private healthcare and access to professional counselling support, enhanced maternity and paternity packages and 26 days’ holiday allowance for all staff.

Rose Hayes, director at Cartwright Communications, said: “The cost of living increase means that everybody is feeling the pinch and we wanted to do something as a business to alleviate any worries or personal pressure on the team.

“The increase applies to all members of the team, whether they have been with us seven years or seven days. As an employer, we pride ourselves on the strength of our culture and the importance of buying into what it means to be a ‘Cartwrighter’.
Our team’s overwhelmingly positive reaction to this initiative shows how successful that has been.”

The agency has also recently been named as the East Midlands Top B2B Agency in the prestigious PR Week Top 150, ranking 34th nationally.

Rose said: “Supporting our team is central to the success of the agency, and we’re committed to continually investing in our plans and processes to ensure that we put them in the best position to succeed.

“Every team member has access to a personal CPD budget, as well as line managers and mentors to help support their progression. We’re also incredibly proud of the way the team supports and celebrates each other – we pride ourselves on being one another’s greatest fans, which we recognise on a weekly and monthly basis.

“The results of the recent Great Places to Work survey speak for themselves, with the highest scoring levels of satisfaction across the board and 100% of the team saying they feel the directors embody the best characteristics of the company.

“It’s a hugely exciting time for Cartwright Communications, with our Birmingham office now officially open and a third location on the horizon and ambitious growth plans to take us ahead over the next five years.”

Dominic Smith, who received his pay rise after just a week working at Cartwright, said: “Though I have only been at Cartwright a short time, it's clear that every member of the team is well looked after and listened to. So much emphasis has been placed on them being just as invested in my development and needs as I am, and that's not something that's common in the job market.”
