Next phase approved at Trent Basin

Planning approval has been granted for the fourth phase of the Trent Basin development in Nottingham, allowing work to progress on a new section of the riverside neighbourhood.

The phase, known as Trent Basin West, will deliver 87 homes as part of a wider £100m regeneration scheme. The development is being led by Blueprint Regeneration in partnership with Nottingham City Council and the East Midlands Combined County Authority.

The approved plans include a mix of three- and four-bedroom homes designed to be energy efficient, with properties offered across a range of tenures.

Sam Veal, Chief Executive at Blueprint Regeneration said: “Section 73 planning approval for Trent Basin West marks a significant step forward in delivering the next phase of the development and accelerating housing delivery in Nottingham.

“Working in partnership with Nottingham City Council, and with the support of funding from the East Midlands Combined County Authority, this project demonstrates our shared commitment to creating thriving, inclusive riverside communities.”

Funding for the phase has been secured through the East Midlands Combined County Authority’s Brownfield Housing Fund, aimed at accelerating housing delivery on previously developed land.

The approval follows confirmation that a new pedestrian and cycle bridge at Trent Basin is set to open. The crossing, facilitated by the developer to support its construction, will be the first new bridge over the River Trent in Nottingham since the 1950s. It is expected to improve connections across the river, providing more direct and accessible routes for pedestrians and cyclists.
