Nottingham Trent University successful in accessing funds to offer supply chain consultancy workshops
Nottingham Trent University has been successful in accessing funds to offer supply chain consultancy workshops followed by one-to-one consultancy, for SMEs, starting in June 2021.
Business owners who have already taken part in the project report improved ability to delegate, senior team development, greater confidence in handling supplier relationships, and greater clarity on procurement strategy.
“We found the support provided by NTU invaluable. We worked together to develop a tool kit giving an in-depth analysis of supplier relationships, costs, quality and risk mitigation. This process has given me more confidence to engage with suppliers to discuss pricing, transparency, and ensure sustainable practices are adhered to.”
Lynn Johnson, Managing Director of FSG Tableware Ltd
The support is available at no cost to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire.
The programme will be delivered by senior procurement specialists who aim to help businesses critically assess systems, identify areas to review and develop, and introduce or improve processes.
The core benefits of strengthening supply chain management are cost reduction, improve quality control, increase speed and flexibility, and mitigating risk.
What will the support include?
- Three 2-hour strategic procurement workshops
- A procurement maturity self-assessment
- 45 hours of consultancy support (approx.)
- Talent grants
Where a recruitment need is identified, we can provide a talent grant to fund 20% of the salary of a new graduate role for up to 12 months.
