Construction Industry Network

ProCon Nottinghamshire open for business

A new network has been launched for people and companies in Nottinghamshire’s property and construction sectors.

ProCon Nottinghamshire is inviting everyone with a professional interest in the built environment to join, enabling a flourishing network to connect people and businesses with each other.

The member-led initiative is modelled on 18-year-old ProCon Leicestershire, which has almost 600 members drawn from more than 130 companies from across Leicestershire.

ProCon Nottinghamshire is confident it can grow to a similar size by attracting developers, architects, surveyors, engineers, agents, consultants, investors, bankers, accountants, solicitors, local authorities and more from across Nottinghamshire.

People and organisations can join as members via the network’s website where they can also register for the inaugural event on Thursday May 17.

The inaugural breakfast event is taking place at Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club, with a talk by the architects Maber about its work at Trent Bridge before time for networking.

ProCon Nottinghamshire has been initiated by a cross-industry steering group led by Will Cursham from the law firm Gateley Plc. Other members come from BSP Engineering, Cartwright Communications, Gleeds, Grace Machin, Igloo Regeneration, Innes England, Invest in Nottingham, Keepmoat Homes, Maber, Natwest, NTU, Saxondale Properties and Willmott Dixon.

Will said: “ProCon Leicestershire is extremely successful in bringing together hundreds of people within property and construction in Leicestershire to share knowledge, make contacts and forge partnerships. It highlights to wider business and to the people and organisations in Leicestershire the achievements of the sector.

“ProCon Nottinghamshire can achieve the same goals and when I have talked to people in the county about this idea they have all been very keen to see it happen. They want to see this new network sharing expertise.

“There’s real enthusiasm from potential members and companies of all sizes. And as is the case in Leicestershire, we want ProCon Nottinghamshire to proactively engage with our city, county and borough councils plus other public sector bodies such as the universities.”

Lorraine Baggs, head of inward investment at Invest in Nottingham, said: “By engaging with developers and others both in Nottingham and beyond, ProCon Nottinghamshire will help promote the opportunities here for development and the breadth of local expertise available to bring projects to fruition.”

Membership for 2018 costs £64 for individuals, £200 for organisations and £280 for large corporates (all plus VAT). The minimum of four events per year can form part of professionals’ CPD (Continuing Professional Development).

Members will have exclusive access to the online membership directory, enabling them to make new contacts across the sector, and businesses can promote themselves by posting news stories on the website.
